What is Pomodoro Timer?

Pomodoro Timer implements the Pomodoro Technique โ€” a time management method that alternates focused 25-minute work sessions with 5-minute breaks, with a longer 15-30 minute break after every four sessions.

When to use this tool

  • Improving focus during deep work or study sessions
  • Breaking large tasks into manageable time blocks
  • Reducing procrastination with structured intervals
  • Tracking productive work time over a day

How it works

Uses requestAnimationFrame or setInterval for precise countdown timing. Cycles through configurable work (25 min default) and break (5 min default) periods. After 4 pomodoros, triggers a long break. Plays an audio notification at each transition.

Examples

Standard cycle
Input: 25 min work โ†’ 5 min break ร— 4 โ†’ 30 min long break
Output: 2 hours of focused work with regular rest
